Brokering of “valueless” lease, Canterbury
AUC completed the sale of an A3 lease for a restaurant property in the heart of Canterbury. The pleasing aspect of the deal from AUCs point of view is to have sold the remainder of the diminishing lease for the client in a flat (recession hit) market. The overall deal meant that the client did not have to pay for any of the prof/legal fees, had no ongoing obligations (dilaps or otherwise) and ended up with the same amount of money which was the clients initial investment some 4 to 5 years previously. All this was achieved against the back-drop of advise from local agents that the lease had no market value. Now that is what we call brokering a deal out of nothing.
